Lunar Rescue is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Cardiff, writing, playing, recording and producing everything himself. The songs are atmospheric and cinematic, built from acoustic roots with ambient and electronic textures pulled through them.
Lunar Rescue comes from more than twenty years of working in music alongside artists including David Gray, Sugababes and Tom Hingley. That experience shows in the craft: songs that are carefully made and unhurried, and that leave space for the listener.
Signed to the London independent label JAM Records, Lunar Rescue has released a steady run of records since 2023. The introspective debut EP of four songs about love, life and relationships was followed in 2024 by “Need To Be”, a collaboration with Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Wadge, who also sings on “Until Then”. A nostalgic, retrospective EP came out that August, and If I Die Before You Wake traced a life from struggling at school to growing older.
The new EP, Run Enter, goes darker and more cinematic. “Good Run” is about trying your hardest and still being overlooked. “Keep Moving” is about a relationship falling apart and carrying on anyway, “because it’s the only thing we can really do in life.” “The Rules” grew from a melody Lunar Rescue had carried for twenty years.
